Carbon fiber used in space
Made of nylon, covered with a layer of PU (polyurethane) fabric, with carbon fiber thermal elements used in space missions. Used as a surrounding body blanket or heating mat, this infrared device is a personal sauna that soothes and relaxes at the same time, through perspiration, quickly eliminates a few excess centimeters. It is ideal for the abdomen, waist, hips, back, esses and thighs. Far Infrared Radiation (RIL) or simply infrared radiation, mean those sauna mat strips which have been designed with space age technology, responsible for irradiating gentle, penetrating heat, in its most common form. purer (invisible and controlled by micro electronic circuits).
How does the heat transmitted by infrared radiation control weight? Sweating is part of the body’s complex thermoregulation process that increases heart rate and output as well as the metabolic rate. This process requires large amounts of energy to remove excess water, subcutaneous fat, and salt. At a temperature of 43 ° C, fat dissolves in water and the body expels toxins and fat through perspiration.
How does the heat transmitted by infrared radiation produce results identical to those of physical exercise? In a far-infrared radiation (RIL) session for 20-30 minutes, the heart works at a rate equivalent to that of a 9-mile run, forcing the body to sweat. The infrared sauna is ideal for those who do not have time for regular, practical physical exercise or their health does not allow it.
Health benefits of using sauna
Have you ever wondered about the health benefits of using a best infrared sauna or steam room? Many people enjoy them in SPAs or fitness rooms after a workout or a long day at the office. It turns out that the use of these heated rooms can also provide additional health benefits. But in the sauna / hammam debate, who is the winner?
STEAM CHAMBER: WHAT IS A HAMMAM?
A hammam (sometimes called a Turkish bath) provides moist heat. These rooms are usually tiled (or sometimes some other non-porous material like glass or plastic) and are airtight to trap any moisture created by a steam generator. When you enter a hammam, you will immediately notice the presence of steam.
Steam rooms are designed to accommodate 95 to 100% humidity. The temperature in a hammam can vary from 40 to 50 ° C, but it can feel warmer due to the high humidity. In some steam rooms, you will find a spray of eucalyptus oil or other scent to enhance your steaming experience. Because the steam rises, you will find that sitting higher in a steam room provides more intense heat and steam. Sitting lower in a hammam therefore offers less steam and heat.
THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF HAMMAM
Anyone who has spent time in a steam room will immediately see benefits for the skin. Moisture helps the skin to cool and turn dewy in the short term. But the benefits don’t end there. Moist heat can help relieve symptoms of colds and congestion (especially when combined with eucalyptus oil), and people with sore muscles often feel relief after sitting for a few. minutes in a hammam.
Finally, many steam room users will tell you that the experience helps reduce stress.
Researchers have studied the impact of sauna use on cardiovascular health and other illnesses. Some studies have shown a modest impact on chronic diseases, including high blood pressure, heart failure, dementia, and heart disease. Alzheimer’s disease, headaches, type 2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. For many physicians, the sauna is beneficial after exercise to soothe and relax muscles. Indeed, if physical exercise allows the body to sweat, the sauna will allow the perspiration process to continue, but while ensuring relaxation and soothing. It is also important to use the sauna as a complement to exercise rather than as a replacement for it.
THE HEALTH RISKS OF THE SAUNA
Using the sauna requires the same common sense as using the steam room, as high, dry heat can cause fainting or dizziness. Pregnant women, especially those in early pregnancy, are generally advised to avoid hot weather and speak to their doctor before considering the experience. In addition, people with a medical history and high risk health problems (kidney disease, liver failure, heart disease) should refrain from going to a sauna.
The traditional sauna works with resistances that heat volcanic stones. Heat is produced by indirect means: convection (air current) and conduction (direct contact of hot air with the skin). In our infrared saunas, less than 20% of the energy is used to heat the air molecules, which releases 80% of the infrared energy for direct contact with the body. Because of this, the heat penetrates deeper and causes the body temperature to rise. This difference explains the many benefits offered by the infrared sauna cabin.
Infrared allows you to have perspiration composed of 20% toxins while a traditional sauna will produce perspiration with a maximum of 3% toxins. A traditional sauna heats the air between 80 ° C and 120 ° C, while an infrared sauna cabin heats the air between 42 ° C and 54 ° C. A lower temperature means the heat is less stuffy or oppressive. As a result, you will feel better in the cabin and stay there longer to get the maximum benefit from your infrared cabin on your body.
In the infrared sauna market, most manufacturers offer saunas with a simple ON / OFF system, without any possibility of adjusting the intensity of the waves. In addition, they only use a single infrared wave spectrum, with far infrared being the most widely used. For technological reasons, no manufacturer uses all 3 infrared in the same sauna … apart from our infrared saunas.
Our infrared sauna cabins use the ONLY heating technology providing the entire infrared spectrum to safely and effectively target individual health needs. Infrared (IR) light is naturally produced by sunlight. The infrared in our saunas does not contain the associated ultraviolet (UV) rays and allows gentle heat to be produced. The experience is similar to sunbathing in the summer with the sensation of heat passing through the body but without the dangers of UV rays. Infrared rays are waves with a lower frequency than conventional light. Although invisible to the naked eye, they are used everywhere in our daily lives, from heating restaurant terraces to our remote controls. Infrared heat is so gentle and natural that maternity ward incubators use infrared lamps to keep premature babies warm. If you can’t stand the sweltering heat of traditional saunas, then the infrared sauna cabin is the ideal solution.
Our infrared saunas exploit the benefits of the 3 infrared spectra (wavelengths):
Far infrared (IR-C): They mainly heat the surface of the skin and correspond to the waves delivered in a traditional sauna. Far infrared stimulates the circulatory system, making the heartbeat more vigorously and allowing the blood vessels to dilate.
Medium infrared (IR-B): They heat the dermis of the skin and enter shallowly into the body. They relieve pain, improve circulation, and aid in weight loss. Mid-infrared penetrates muscles, tissues, and joints, thereby accelerating blood circulation, which positively impacts oxygenation of the body.
Near-infrared (IR-A): They heat the body in depth. By penetrating deeper into the skin, infrared rays heat up the muscles and internal organs. In response, the body increases its heart rate, which is equivalent to regular cardiovascular training recommended to keep you in shape. By sweating in the infrared treatment cabin, the body is purified of accumulated toxins, promoting its oxygenation to provide it with all the nutrients it needs.
While major technological innovations have recently appeared on the market, the steam sauna called traditional sauna still retains its letters of nobility among amateurs, because it conveys values perpetuated in Scandinavia for more than 2000 years. It is indeed possible to equip yourself with a sauna operating on an ancestral principle consisting of heating volcanic stones using a stove which is now electric. In this type of sauna, water is poured over the stove, which will have the effect of creating steam which will then naturally heat the ambient air in the sauna. Conversely in the context of an infrared sauna, we are in the presence of an even drier heat since it is directly obtained by means of infrared diffusers installed on carbon panels. Sweating is caused by infrared rays directed at your body. It is also useful to specify that the ease of maintenance and the lifespan are two arguments which plead in favor of the installation of an infrared sauna.
Technical differences: installation and electricity consumption
If the structure of an infrared sauna and a steam sauna is generally the same since it revolves around a wooden cabin (our saunas are all equipped with noble wood certified from Canada) and a glass pane. secure glass, there are nonetheless some differences relating to installation methods and power consumption. Thus, despite the great efforts made by the manufacturers of steam saunas, the assembly of an infrared sauna is still considered to be more accessible, in particular in terms of the electrical installation. It is also not necessary to install a vapor barrier. In terms of consumption, the infrared sauna will tend to consume less energy than a traditional sauna which will generally have greater electrical power than an equivalent sauna (3500 to 8000 Watts) in comparison with an infrared sauna (1205 to 3000 Watts). Finally, risky comparisons with an electric heater must also be fought, given the real time of use of a domestic sauna, which in reality is 5 to 50 times less used than an electric heater.
Different capacities: a higher or lower temperature
infrared-sauna-cabin The infrared sauna and the steam sauna do not have exactly the same heat generated capacities. Thus, in an infrared sauna, characterized by the development of radiant heat, the temperature will reach a maximum of 60 degrees. On the other hand, in a steam sauna based on a thermal heating logic, the operating temperature will be between 60 and 90 degrees. In addition, the humidity level can reach 20% in a traditional sauna while it will tend towards zero in an infrared sauna. In addition, the heating time will be on average two to three times faster in an infrared sauna which is therefore more practical if you enjoy modest time slots allocated to well-being.
Different sensations but relatively comparable benefits The benefits of the sauna are generally comparable whether it is infrared or traditional. We note in particular its virtues in terms of sweating, faster in a traditional sauna, during which the body’s perspiration evaporates, unlike the hammam. Thus, this results in beneficial effects on the skin in terms of tone and elimination of toxins. The sauna is also particularly effective in terms of stimulating cardiac function, improving blood circulation, or even soothing muscle pain. However if you have respiratory or even heart problems or if the water vapor and high temperatures bother you, it is in this case preferable to focus on an infrared sauna, which is without contraindication in the context of normal and measured use. Indeed, the more moderate temperature observed in this equipment is more bearable and allows longer sessions of between 30 and 45 minutes against 15 to 30 minutes in a steam.

Review of Gizmo Supply Infrared Sauna Blanket: Why I swear by it
The Insider Picks team writes on topics we think you will enjoy. Business Insider has partnerships with affiliated companies, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase.
I’m the first to admit that I’ve tried some wacky methods in the name of wellness. I once ate raw garlic cloves every morning for two weeks as a natural alternative to antibiotics. (Not recommended, if only for garlic breath.) I brush my hair with a clear quartz crystal comb to purify my coronal chakra. (Totally recommended, if only for aesthetics).
Recently, I dropped $400 on an Amazon infrared sauna blanket so that I can “detoxify” myself daily in the comfort of my own home ̵
1; but it is not as “external”. ” as it sounds. In fact, experts agree that infrared sauna therapy can improve digestion, reduce pain and inflammation, improve cardiovascular health and even eliminate acne.
The benefits of infrared sauna therapy
I experienced the benefits of infrared sauna therapy almost a year ago. It was two months before my wedding, and I couldn’t fit into my dress. Desperate to lose some weight before the big day, I added bi-monthly sauna appointments to my nutrition and fitness program.
But what I noticed most after a few months of regular sweating sessions was not the weight loss (although it did help in that department – my wedding dress was like a glove). It was how energetic I was afterwards. My skin was completely shiny. Cooking for an hour at 170° C motivated me to make better choices for the rest of the day; I just felt that I was healthier and happier and wanted that feeling to last as long as possible.
According to Dr. Josh Ax, D.N.M., C.N.S., D.C., founder of Ancient Nutrition and DrAxe.com, and author of the upcoming book “Keto Diet”, it all adds up.
“Infrared saunas (sometimes called far infrared saunas or near infrared saunas) are a type of sauna that uses heat and light, in the form of infrared light waves, to help ‘detoxify’ the body through sweating and to promote relaxation,” he told Business Insider. “Proponents of infrared saunas often turn to this type of holistic treatment in the hope that the sessions can provide muscle and joint support, accelerate metabolism, promote weight loss, help rejuvenate skin, improve circulation, promote cardiovascular healing and contribute to quality sleep . “
Dr. Ax notes that scientific studies in this area are limited but promising. But if you believe in anecdotal evidence, believe me: infrared sauna perspiration is better than perspiration from a purifying juice.
In the beginning, I did regular infrared treatments at Shape House, a “city sweat”. lodge “with locations in Los Angeles and New York. While typical sweat lodges have steam saunas, Shape House uses far infrared technology. You are essentially wrapped like a burrito in a plastic lining, which is then heated to a temperature of up to 170 ° C for 50 minutes using infrared light to generate heat in the body.
“Infrared saunas differ from conventional heated saunas because they emit light that penetrates directly into the skin,” explains Dr. Axe. There is no steam, no humidity and no hot air, which makes it much easier to breathe and to withstand high temperatures for a long period of time. But at about $50 per appointment, my Shape House habit wasn’t one I could follow without this wedding budget.
For a few months, I abstained from regular sweating, which only confirmed the powerful effect that was affecting them: my digestion was slow and my stomach was bloated, my acne had returned, and I was mostly low on energy and anxious.
Naturally, I looked into the infrared sauna blankets at home to get back on track on a reasonable budget.
My search for an affordable home sauna brought me to Amazon.
“Infrared sauna blankets look like heavy sleeping bags; you lock yourself in them because they omit infrared rays and increase body heat,” says Dr. Axe. “The advantages of using an infrared blanket include its affordability, compactness, light weight and portability, the convenience of being able to use the blanket for a longer period of time, and the fact that the blanket can be used in a variety of conditions.
Why buy an infrared sauna and Sauna Blanket?
The infrared sauna has many benefits for your health and the well-being of your body. The sauna, whether traditional or infrared, is above all an excellent way to relax. The heat relieves the joints, improves breathing and relaxes the muscles. Made of wood, the infrared sauna cabin diffuses infrared rays, heating the cabin from 20° to 60°C. This heat causes sweating up to 6 times more than a basic sauna. This action opens the pores of the skin, eliminates toxins from the body, allows the epidermis to breathe better and thus see its blood circulation improved. To sum up, sauna benefits are multiple:
Improvement of blood circulation: infrared rays accelerate cellular functions. This action causes an increase in blood circulation and improves the cardiovascular system and therefore, by default, strengthens the immune system.
Effectiveness against dermatological diseases such as psoriasis, urticaria, eczema etc.
Reduction of tension
Relief of rheumatism and arthritis
Improvement of oxygenation
Purification of the skin
Improvement of sleep and therefore reduction of fatigue
Weight loss and elimination of alcohol and heavy metals such as lead
And yes, in addition to being extremely beneficial for your well-being, the infrared sauna can quickly become your slimming ally! By sweating 2 to 3 times more than in a classic sauna or in a hammam, you consume as many calories as an intensive exercise session. Its benefits are also notable for the heart, it will help you lower your blood pressure and thus maintain a healthy heart.
How does an infrared sauna work?
Unlike the hammam, which works with humidity, or the traditional sauna, the infrared sauna works with an infrared system and not with a heater. The system diffuses electromagnetic waves called infrared rays, which have the particularity of penetrating the skin and warming the body without changing the external temperature.
If you suffer from shortness of breath or any other respiratory problem, it is best to avoid the heat of the traditional sauna, which is far too stifling. On the other hand, the infrared sauna diffuses heat that is distributed in a different way since it penetrates deep into the body, resulting in many positive virtues for your body.
How to choose an indoor infrared sauna?
It is important to know that there are different types of infrared emitters in saunas :
Carbon Fiber Transmitter
Magnesium oxide emitter
Some emitters heat more or less quickly than others. Carbon fiber and quartz emitters have the particularity of distributing heat quickly, even almost instantaneously. The heat that is diffused is very pleasant because it is enveloping. Magnesium and ceramics emit a softer and slower heat, however their short waves allow them to penetrate the skin more deeply.
To summarize, there are three types of infrared:
Short-wave infrared sauna: heats up the body deep down.
Medium infrared sauna: heats the dermis of the skin
Long infrared sauna: mainly heats the skin surface
Discover our selection of infrared saunas with ceramic heaters.
Assembly and use
The installation of an infrared sauna is extremely simple, as you only need to fit the wooden panels together and fix them together. The installation of a sauna can be done alone or in pairs, count between 30 min to 1 hour depending on the number of people. Once the panels are assembled, make the necessary connections and you’re done!
Zyke Piscine gives you some advice on how to use it:
Remember to preheat your infrared sauna cabin about 5 to 10 minutes before your session.
Prefer a seated position for the majority of your session to take advantage of all the benefits of the infrared sauna.
Lie down a few minutes before the end of your session with your legs slightly elevated to promote blood circulation.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INFRARED SAUNA AND TRADITIONAL STEAM SAUNA
A different way of working: from tradition to modernity
If great technological innovations have recently appeared on the market, the steam sauna known as traditional sauna still retains its letters of nobility with the amateurs, because it conveys values perpetuated in Scandinavia for more than 2000 years. It is indeed possible to equip yourself with a sauna operating on an ancestral principle consisting in heating volcanic stones thanks to a stove that is now electric. In this type of sauna, water is poured over the heater, which creates steam that naturally heats the air in the sauna. On the contrary, in an infrared sauna, we are in the presence of an even drier heat since it is directly obtained through infrared diffusers installed on carbon panels. Sweating is caused by infrared rays directed towards your body. It is also useful to point out that ease of maintenance and durability are two arguments in favor of installing an infrared sauna.
Technical differences: installation and power consumption
While the structure of an infrared sauna and a steam sauna is generally the same since it is built around a wooden cabin (our saunas are all equipped with certified Canadian noble woods) and a safety glass window, there are nevertheless some differences in terms of installation methods and electricity consumption. Thus, despite the great efforts made by steam sauna manufacturers, the installation of an infrared sauna is still considered more accessible, especially in terms of electrical installation. Furthermore, it is not necessary to install a vapor barrier. In terms of consumption, the Infrared Sauna will tend to be less energy consuming than a traditional sauna, which will generally have a higher electrical power at sauna equivalent (3500 to 8000 Watts) compared to an Infrared Sauna (1205 to 3000 Watts). Finally, risky comparisons with an electric heater must also be fought, given the real time of use of a domestic sauna, which is actually 5 to 50 times less used than an electric heater.
Different capacities: a higher or lower temperature
example-cabin-sauna-infraredThe infrared sauna and the steam sauna do not have exactly the same heat generation capacity. Thus, in an Infrared sauna, characterized by the development of radiant heat, the temperature will reach a maximum of 60 degrees. On the other hand, in a steam sauna based on a thermal heating logic, the operating temperature will be between 60 and 90 degrees. In addition, the humidity level can reach 20% in a traditional sauna, while it tends towards zero in an infrared sauna. Moreover, the heating time will be on average two to three times faster in an infrared sauna, which is therefore more practical if you enjoy modest time slots allocated to wellness.
Different sensations but relatively comparable benefits
The benefits of the sauna are broadly comparable whether it is infrared or traditional. One will note in particular its virtues in terms of sweating, which is faster in a traditional sauna, during which the body’s perspiration evaporates unlike the hammam. Thus, it results in beneficial effects on the skin in terms of tonicity, and elimination of toxins. The sauna is also particularly effective in terms of stimulating the heart function, improving blood circulation and soothing muscle aches and pains. However, if you are experiencing respiratory or cardiac problems or if you are uncomfortable with water vapor and high temperatures, it is preferable in this case to wear an Infrared sauna, which is not contraindicated in normal and measured use. Indeed, the more moderate temperature found in this equipment is more bearable and allows longer sessions between 30 and 45 minutes against 15 to 30 minutes in a steam sauna.
